OUR MISSION
The Global Lab for Research in Action pursues evidence-based solutions to critical health, education, and economic issues faced by hard-to-reach populations around the world. We don’t stop at the research but continue to translate and amplify findings to inform policy, improve programs across the global South and North, and shift the public conversation.
OUR EXPERTISE

research into digestible content for policymakers, practitioners, and the general public
Amplify
findings broadly through various media outlets to deepen public understanding
OUR IMPACT
Our rigorous, innovative research leads the way to bold new solutions like decriminalizing sex work, engaging boys alongside girls to advance gender justice, and reframing stories about women’s work and worth.
OUR STORY
It began as great ideas often do: over a glass of wine – Janine N’jie David
Two women of color, mothers, and descendants of immigrants bonded over questions central to their lives: How might we reshape the world we pass on to young girls? How might we engage young boys in reimagining gender equality? How might we share knowledge, in both directions, across the Global South and North?
To bring questions like these into the public sphere, these two women – Manisha Shah and Janine N’jie David – launched a new kind of institute where research is translated and amplified to drive systemic change.
