UCLA Undergraduate Student Intern
Role Type: Internship
Salary Range: Unpaid, but hours can fulfill the UCLA Luskin’s capstone requirement
Location: Los Angeles, CA or hybrid
Role Description: The Global Lab is in an exciting phase as we explore opportunities for collaboration with potential non-profit, policy, funding partners, develop our internal systems, hone our strategy, and grow our Board. Through the internship, you will have the opportunity to translate and amplify policy research, develop policy communications strategies, and assist with internal development & operations tasks.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Self-directed students who will feel comfortable working in a start-up environment;
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills;
- Outstanding research & analytical skills and/or oral & written communications;
- Work experience across any sector, and an interest in global health, education, and/or gender studies;
- Specific experience and skills in the following:
- Policy Research: Research methodology; Policy research & evaluation; Quantitative and qualitative analysis; Policy briefings & memos;
- Policy Communications: Translating research and policies into accessible, public-facing communications; Graphic design; Social media platforms; Website design; Powerpoint; Event communications; Press & PR;
- Development & Operations: Familiarization of U.S. philanthropic and foundation environment; Grant writing; Event management; Individual, corporate and foundation research & prospecting; Donor communications; Grant database management; Finance & budget administration.
